What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient foot therapy thought to date back as far as Egyptian times. Reflexology is capable of affecting the entire body and is extremely effective in cases of stress, tension and tiredness as it helps to restore and maintain the body’s natural balance.
How does Reflexology work?
The feet are said to represent and correspond to different parts of the body. By working over specific pressure points on the feet the therapist will be able to detect parts of the body which may be unbalanced or suffering from disease. During the course of the treatment the body is encouraged to release toxins which can lead to improved wellbeing.
How many treatments do I need?
You can have reflexology as a one off treatment and still feel benefits. However the greatest benefits are gained after 6 treatments to be taken once every 2 weeks. Thereafter 1 treatment per month is usually sufficient for most people.
What if my feet are ticklish?
Reflexology uses firm pressure and most people tolerate the treatment well.
Is Reflexology suitable for me?
Reflexology is suitable for men and women over the age of 16. Treatment is not recommended during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Please be aware that although many doctors and other health professionals recognise Reflexology as a well established and effective therapy however it is never a substitute for conventional medication.
Recommendations after treatment –
- Avoid tea, coffee and caffeine for 12 hours after treatment
