Waxing Advice

Before your appointment

In order for waxing to be effective the hair should be no shorter than a grain of rice. For most people this means around 7 -10 days worth of growth after you have last shaved.

Please do not use a sunbed or overexpose the area you are having waxed to the sun 24hours before your appointment.

Avoid very hot baths/steam room/sauna immediately before your appointment.

Please advise the beauty therapist if you are taking Roaccutane (a drug prescribed for acne) or are using steroid creams.

Please advise the beauty therapist if you have recently had any microdermabrasion/skin peels or use products containing AHAs on the area you are having waxed.

After your appointment

It is essential to take special care of your skin after your wax treatment. The use of Australian Bodycare Hand & Body Lotion is highly recommended for a few days after waxing. It contains 5% Pure Tea Tree Oil which has antiseptic and healing properties.

It is advisable to wear loose, comfortable clothing after body waxing as this prevents any unnecessary friction

Please avoid the use of sunbeds and do not overexpose the waxed area to the sun for 12 -24hrs.

Please avoid very hot baths/steam rooms/saunas for 12-24hrs.

It is not advisable to go swimming for 12-24hrs after waxing. This is because the chlorinated water may irriate the hair follicles

After underarm waxing your therapist will apply Australian Bodycare Deodorant which is alcohol free. You should avoid reapplying deodorant for 12hours.

Between Appointments

Exfoliate and moisturise regulary. This is the best way to prevent ingrown hairs.
